I had the pleasure of styling a photogshootout for the Tony Award winning rock musical “Spring Awakening”, by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater. The musical concerns teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. The inspiration behind the shoot was to show innocence and maturity….Girls blooming into Women.

I entered a contest called #Thisismystory through lookbook.nu and in collaboration with Love Nail Tree. I had to submit a photo along with a small story. The story needed to be inspiring and to leave someone with one bit of wisdom, impacting dialogue, or change-bringing story. I chose to tell a very honest story, and how my journey in the arts woke up and began to start again.
The meaning behind the photos was me statuesque and strong, remembering who I am, wanting to be more, all while on this journey of life of following my dreams. It was hard to figure out how to say all that in a photo, however I enjoyed the challenge and happy to step outside my usual outfit posts and try something new.
Special thanks to Simplistic Elegance for hair and makeup and my Cuban for being the photographer for the day.
This Is My Story
I found myself sitting on the couch; defeated. Two crying babies, dirty dishes in the sink, and toys blanketing the floor. Dinner had not been cooked, I had not yet showered and I was drowning, struggling to stay afloat. At that very moment I realized I wanted more, I needed more, or we would all suffer.
I looked around as if to find the answer somewhere near me, something I could touch and feel. Something I could buy perhaps?
I tried to block out the noise, even for a moment, trying to listen to my inner voice. Focus on what my heart wanted, what my mind needed, and what my soul craved…. INSPIRATION!
I slowly stood up off the couch, walked down the hall, opened the garage door and climbed up into the attic. I rummaged through boxes and pulled out art books, fashion books, and pattern books from design school 10 years prior. A portfolio that had never seen an interview, markers still moist, unused crisp white paper waiting to be drawn upon, and sketch after pattern after garment after the next filled with dust.
Where to begin? The first step was finding balance, becoming organized amongst the chaos. If I was going to teach my children to follow their dreams, to be proud of their talents, to laugh at themselves, I needed to live by example. I became the example.
I pushed myself into undiscovered territory. I began to laugh at myself. I began to do better, do more, be uncomfortable, be vulnerable and welcome the unknown. I began to follow my dreams.
Today I am an aspiring wardrobe stylist using a blog to showcase my inspirations through fashion and photography. I hope to use my platform as a positive way to excite, motivate and BE inspired.
I’m so happy to share some shots from a photo shoot I styled over the summer. I have worked with What A Betty on a few projects but this has been one of my favorites. We collaborated with local boutiques:
Jewerly by Alixandra Collections & Lynne Curtin Designs
Clothing & Jewelry by The Hidden Jewel
Make up and Hair by Something Blue Stylist
Photography by Jerrad Long
We worked on creating a modern take, with that traditional sense of 70’s fashion. The bohemian, free spirit, flower child era. The simplicity of that particular lifestyle has always been fashionably inspiring to me in how I dress and what really showcases my kind of style. I felt at home bringing this effortless rendition to todays everyday woman.
Please enjoy a few final photos and “behind the scenes” from this fun photo shoot.
I am excited to have worked with such amazing people & beautiful pieces all around. From the gorgeous hair accessories, to the beautiful clothes, to the stunning jewelry. I would love to work with each client again, and most definitely have become a loyal customer.
I was recently asked by ilovefashionbloggers.com to answer a few personal style questions regarding fashion. This was a lot more challenging than I thought. It is definitely awkward to see myself back and personally I feel I have a lisp.. HA!
However one of my New Years resolutions was to challenge myself in creative ways. To be in an uncomfortable, vulnerable place and to put myself out there. So that’s what I did.
Here is a quick video I made in collaboration with ilovefashionbloggers

Here is my second Great Gatsby & Bridal Collaboration photo shoot.
I worked with What A Betty and her gorgeous custom head pieces, styled with Claires Collections detailed stunning dresses.
Samira Gem Creations provided all the jewelry, Makeup by Andi, and Kreative Tech LA was the photographer for the day.
This was a rather large collaboration with 4 models on set, including set moms, and hair and makeup. Claire from Claires Collection allowed us to use her showroom for the day, and boy did we take over. Each gown was a piece of artwork with intricate beading and I had 2, yes 2! rooms filled with racks of dresses to choose from. HEAVEN!
Please enjoy a few shots from that day, including behind the scenes.
I have done 2 -“Great Gatsby” photo shoots with What A Betty, however each time we have collaborated with different vendors. So to give credit where credit is properly due, I will divide the photos and break into two posts.
This first one was our first collaboration together, sorry to say “first” twice…haha 3x’s. Okay, the challenge here was to bring a modern take on a fun and glamourous 1920’s era. I enlisted the help of OnQueStyle which is a luxury designer consignment boutique. However being a consignment store, I knew we may be dealing with gowns sold before the shoot. That day I learned a little something about myself; I work well under pressure. HA! However I couldn’t have asked for more spectacular gowns. “Thank You” OnQueStyle.
The location we chose was at a beautiful home in Anaheim Hills, with each room and outdoor area being the perfect, natural backdrop. A bonus for me was both of my childhood friends were our models for the day and such a special memory for me.
Please enjoy a few photos!
The entire team was amazing in every way! Thank you to everyone who was involved and made this such a great experience.

I was asked by Salt Creek Grille recently to help with future advertisements. It was pretty simple…. just mingle, enjoy some cocktails, and all while being photographed by Britt from Britt Rene Photography. So I rang up a few girlfriends who I love using any reason to catch up with, and met them for an afternoon. My girl Tina who is always a riot, my girl “B” we call her, who has been missed a great deal lately, and the glowing Marisa, who is pregnant with her first baby.
“Thank You” ladies for meeting me and “Thank You” Salt Creek Grille for a beautiful day in the sun with friends!
I chose a dress I purchased by Philip Lim, in a fun leopard print. Since it was a warm day I wore open toed heels and rolled up the sleeves. When the weather cools, I plan on wearing this dress with high boots and maybe a heavy jacket or fur vest. I really liked the non traditional leopard colors, and the size of the spots. It tones down the sex just a bit. HA!
