Clean Slate

With the weather being so hot, white is a great option to cool down; either that or a lot of shade. HA! I pulled this cute shift dress out and layered it with a crop top to give the dress some shape, otherwise it would have just looked like a plain mens shirt. The great thing about white is your working with a blank canvas, so anything can happen.

Shift dresses are great because they literally hang from the shoulders, so it suits all body types and sizes. Anyone can wear them!

In honor of Tailored Tantrums turning 1 I decided to step it up a notch. I’m trying something new with photo titles so bear with me while I get the hang of it. I also linked my LOOKBOOK to the appropriate posts to make searching easier. Lastly I started a list of my favorite Shops: Shops Galore and will keep adding in time. I do have one more minor add but haven’t figured out how to do it just yet… I am not computer savvy to say the least, but Im trying! I hope you like the subtle changes.

This afternoon my husband and I got away for just a bit to enjoy some lunch and a movie. It was a beautiful sunny day; perfect for a date.

Clear Skies

California has had some rainy weather the past couple of weeks and I love to head down to the water on these special days. Its been crisp outside so I found this flannel shirt to help keep me warm, plus it has that holiday feel.

My newest obsession are my skinny jeans. I love that I can wear them with flats, tennis shoes, heels, or boots… maybe some legwarmers? They go with everything!

The 7 Year Itch

My husband and I have been married 7 years this month and not even a single itch needs to be scratched! I’m excited to see where the next 7 years will take us.

 In celebration of our anniversary we wanted to get away for the weekend, but not our usual spots by the water, and we weren’t interested in Los Angeles. We decided on the laid back, green, artsy and delicious San Francisco.  I hadn’t been to San Fran in over 10 years, and I couldn’t really recall most of it, so we both wanted to experience it again. This time through a different stage in our lives. It really was everything I was hoping for and so much more!

We ate our way through downtown and willingly got lost just to see where the city would take us. I am now madly in LOVE with the people, the architecture, the food, the night life, the views… all of it was inspiring on so many levels.

Pizza and Park!

Before our recent trip to San Francisco… that post will be coming soon, my family and I enjoyed a nice Sunday in the park and found an adorable pizza joint next door. The menu was extremely health conscious and the drinks were definitely outside of the box. They even gave the kids clay to entertain themselves for a bit, but I think my husband enjoyed it much more than they did.

It was yet another warm day in California during October so I chose a pair of fun harem pants I found at Forever21. God I love Forever21! They remind me of MC Hammer pants but in a much less diaper way. HA! I also found some fun leopard wedge tennis shoes by VANS. I have never been into the wedge phase, however when I saw these, I thought I would make an exception. I tied it all together with some ghetto gold and I was good to go, however after seeing the photos, I think I could have taken it up a notch with many more bracelets etc… next time.

Pit Stop – Part 1

My home these past few days has been extremely chaotic. My 2 little ones have been fighting the dreaded croup! Its been a lot of doctor visits, chicken noodle soup, hot showers, and sleepless nights. However I’m happy to see my babies are finally turning the corner and are feeling better. My husband deserves a BIG “thank you” for helping out during so many rough evenings.

Since things seem to have calmed down just a bit, I thought now could be the time to show our drive to Lake Havasu, Arizona and back again. We made some detours along the way… more of those to come. We really enjoyed some great quality time together. We talked about how silly our kids are, what the 2nd half of this year will hold, and gossiped …sssshhhhhhh.

But mostly we just laughed and laughed and laughed. I’m a lucky woman to have such an amazing friend in my husband.

Coffee Break

I’ve noticed the last few photos I have taken have had a sun spot or light, if you will, around my face. I’m wondering if its my camera or possibly something more? We will see if it continues. HA!

I wore this VERY comfortable tee dress for an iced latte and some sun. My chain purse brought it just the right amount of sparkle and surprise it needed! The watch was “collateral” or an added bonus from my girlfriend for borrowing some shoes…Thanks B!

Red Sunsets

Happy Friday!

This summer has really been a great one to my family and I. We have enjoyed many walks, sunsets and quality time together. This was one of those times.

I wore this fun and sexy dress on one of our evening walks, it is so soft. Because the dress is black and of course will go with anything, I paired it with a bright converse. Next time I will try it with a heel, or maybe a biker boot could be cute…..heeeey!

    

 I just love the longer days during the spring and summer months. It keeps me actively outside and I find myself more “in the moment”.
